Son Antem East: a resort course
Design: Francisco Lopez-Segalés. Opening: 1994. Tee times: every 10 minutes. Pace of play: approximately 4:30 hours.
The Son Antem East course was built on a hunting ground. The course was designed so that even beginners can enjoy their first contact with the ball in a real playing environment, with wide, long fairways that allow for good drives.
This design is also a challenge for low handicappers, with long holes and the ever-present wind adding an extra level of difficulty to the game.
The course has five lakes and offers a wide variety of play for golfers, who will need to use all the clubs in their bag.
Son Antem West: a championship course
Design: Francisco Lopez-Segalés. Inauguration: 2001. Tee times: every 10 minutes. Pace of play: approximately 4:30 hours.
This golf course is more demanding and hosts most of the tournaments, as well as being one of the best and most difficult on the island due to its design – narrow fairways with little rough and undulating greens surrounded by bunkers. It runs through a typical Mallorcan estate and offers spectacular views of the Randa mountain.
The course has large tees and three lakes that come into play on five holes. Son Antem West requires a handicap of 35 for ladies and 27 for gentlemen.
