Sant Miquel patrón de Llucmajor

On September 29th, a public holiday in Llucmajor, the feast of the town’s patron saint, Saint Michael, is celebrated with great solemnity. A religious service is held, during which the traditional ball de l’oferta (offering dance) takes place. Outside, the gegants (giants), caparrots (big heads), folklore associations, and cavallets cotoners perform exhibitions and dances in homage to the saint.

This important day coincides with the first fair, which marks the beginning of the traditional period of the Llucmajor Fairs, held since 1546 and attracting a large number of visitors.

The celebrations of Saint Michael are part of the general program of the Llucmajor Fairs, published on the town hall’s website: www.llucmajor.org
