Pujada de la part forana a Lluc a peu

In mid-September, a pilgrimage is made to the spiritual heart of Mallorca: the Lluc Monastery, located in the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. What used to be a private or small-group visit has now become a massive celebration. The patron saint of the island, Our Lady of Lluc, who enjoys great devotion among the locals, resides there.
The pilgrimage departs from various towns across the island towards the sanctuary. The journey is completed entirely on foot or, in some cases, partially by bus, depending on each municipality. Although the event was first organized more than forty years ago by the antics blavets de Lluc (former members of the monastery’s choir school), it is now organized by the Consell de Mallorca in collaboration with the municipalities of the island.
The program is published on the Llucmajor Town Hall website, together with the August festivities programs: www.llucmajor.org
