S’Abeurador Rodona: A Historic Landmark in the Heart of Llucmajor

At the end of the square we find S’Abeurador Rodona, which, as its name indicates, has a rounded shape. The fountain is made of limestone, is three metres in diameter and, as its only ornamentation, has a column of stones.

It was originally an abeurador for mules and horses. In 1916, the Town Council made a series of modifications to it, installing some troughs and turning it into a public fountain. In 1963, the square was renovated and the ewer was removed, until 1999, when it was moved back to its original location.
